Shabby Sheep

On Monday it was my first day at Booker T. Washington in downtown, student teaching. I got lucky and was placed with my requested teacher and friend Cassie. During planning period we found this store called Shabby Sheep in Uptown Dallas and journeyed there after school. It was like being a little kid in a toy store, trying to find something to buy with the bit of money you have. We both bought a hank of hand dyed ultra soft wool yarn from Manos del Uruguay or The Hands of Uruguay, a non profit organization that brings economic and social opportunities to rural woman. The two woman who owned the shop were very nice and even turned our hanks into a user friendly ball. It was fascinating to watch. We will definitely be back to get more goodies.
